At present Alison is working with the University of York to undertake an MA in Education by Research exploring the impact of the Circles for Learning project in 5 different Secondary schools. The secondary schools are a cross section including an SEMH School, ASC School, School for Severe Learning Difficulties and two mainstream secondary Schools.
All the teachers involved have undertaken the training and have worked with Alison to plan the groups and ways of working in their specific schools. They have undertaken baseline assessments in Emotional Literacy, Learning to Learn skills and Self Image with the children and young people taking part in the project.
The schools are now working with a Mum/Dad and baby visiting the classroom once a month for a year. These observations sessions are followed up with a range of activities developing one of the 5 key strands of Mental Health and Wellbeing.
Alison meets with the Lead Practitioner in each school every half term to document the work being undertaken and to support them develop the observations and interests and needs of the young people involved.
